Movie adaptations of books usually fall short for the audience. However, this was one movie where the book and its counterpart were equally depressing and heartbreaking.
If the thought of two teenagers going through cancer isn’t bawling material, the process of them trying to get better finishes the job. As an added cherry, they fall in love too.
It’s a beautiful movie in the way all things depressing are found to be admired.
