When I visited Chennai last month, I was blown away by a lot of things. Right from my childhood, I had thought of Chennai as a peaceful city with a certain slowness that Delhi has been missing for decades. However, to my surprise, the city of Chennai is anything but slow. The people in Chennai are calm, stay in a particular character and are empathetic to a certain extent but they are NOT slow.
Exploring Chennai
So, my trip involved meeting a friend, helping her prepare for her wedding, dining in the best restaurants and helping her find her ‘home sweet home’ in the city of Chennai.
She took me around the city. I explored a few hidden gems with her and went to some of the most excellent restaurants. The trip was like a chick flick with a lot of food and pictures. However, when it came to finding a home, we did not know where to start. Chennai has a lot of functional areas to offer. However, if you are someone who is in 9 to 5 job without an inordinate amount of money at your disposal, most of them are away from your reach. With that said, we had some decent options in mind. We decided to check out these options.
Localities in Chennai to Opt For
These localities were clean and maintained, but a lot of them were either cramped with cars, or very loud to be called a private place or had small apartments. To cut the long story short, these places were not where the heart could feel at ease. We decided to expand our horizons and look at a location which holds the future. It did not take us long to find out that Old Mahabalipuram Road had a lot of potentials and a lot of companies have their offices there. It gave us hope, and we headed straight to OMR.
OMR- The Future of Chennai
When we talk about the future of Chennai, OMR is what everyone begins to describe. As we rode through the busy roads of Chennai, my friend told me about a lot of commercial and residential projects which are coming up in the locality. She was happy and positive since she was about to find her dream home. But, I was a little sceptical about a lot of things. However, I decided to remain silent until we reached the place and let her bask in her warm positivity.
As soon as we reached OMR, I started feeling a little comfortable and better about the locality. There were unusual structures on the road. The commercial spaces were booming, and the high rise buildings looked impressive. Everything else was under construction, or you could see engineers evaluating before starting to construct.
I then did some research online and found out that the area has witnessed a lot of property appreciation in recent times and Casagranda Supremus and Casagranda Smart Town are two properties under sight for the same reasons these days.
Casagrand Smart Town

Casagrand Supremus
I heard that Casagranda has been helping people get their own homes at a very affordable price since 2004 and Casagranda Smart Town with its luxury apartments and state-of-the-art design and facilities is the talk of the town these days. Casagrand has done more than 50 projects in various places in and around Chennai, and their OMR projects have become highly sought-after. All this translated to better ROI in future, and this is one thing that I always look for when investing in an asset. So, this seemed like a lucrative plan. We investigated further and found out that the place had food joints, reputed schools and institutes and reputed hospitals. The Google Maps helped us track down proximity to other places in and around Chennai. We checked a few more things and established the fact that if you are looking at future in Chennai from a perspective of owning a place, OMR is a hot option to look at.
