7 Places For Cheap Shopping In Mumbai

Once you are done with all the touristy things in Mumbai, I recommend that you leave the big bling behind and head over to these thrifty markets for some real earth-shaking cheap shopping. Here are Mumbai’s best street shopping markets.

Colaba Causeway

This is one of the best places to pick every ethnic accessory in your mind. It is like a street side shopping paradise. I would recommend checking out the colorful slippers and bags. Also, when I say ethnic, I don’t mean to limit your expectations. It’s just that I think there is no better thrift market in Mumbai for ethnic shopping than this place.

Linking Road

This busy place is full of chaos, and beautiful colors. You can find a huge variety of clothes and accessories in this place. However, if you are a bad bargainer, I would not recommend going alone; OR you can use a popular trick – no matter how much price the shopkeeper quote, slash it down by 50% to 60% and bargain.

Lokhandwala Market

Shopping in Mumbai is fun, thanks to places like these. This place is filled with shops and roadside vendors that sell replicas of almost any brand you have on your mind. Again, bargain!

Hill Road

This is yet another popular thrift shopping destination. This place offers everything on your shopping list. On my visit to Mumbai, I had the best street shopping experience here. However, you can also find some home-grown showrooms in the market that sell decent quality stuff and at a very competitive price.

Dharavi

Leather bags and leather jackets? Check out Dharavi.

Fashion Street

This place is literally ‘dominated’ by fashion. The deals are better than any top online shopping site. It is popular among college goers. Plus, it is one of the few markets that have amazing trends for men as well.

Natraj Market

If you are willing to spend a little above the thrift prices, Natraj Market is a gem. It has traditional as well as modern offerings and cater to every occasion and need in style. People looking for something traditional and thrify, this is the best street shopping place.
